Healing from Trauma and Abuse...
You are probably here because you have been looking for ways to relief profound experiences of pain nobody understands such as rape, domestic violence, ongoing sexual abuse with someone you know or love and the aftermaths results and implications of these experiences in your life.
It has been difficult because you might not only suffer due to the experience you went through but you also feel blamed and unsupported by family and friends.
You are upset with the “get over it,” “you are too sensitive,” “it was not that bad” type of response to profound and terrible traumatic experiences.
You feel the traumatic experience continues due to intrusive memories, flashbacks, obsessive thinking, reminders of past or present abusive relationships, shame, self-blame and self-judgment, self-injury, binge eating, food deprivation, depression, and anxiety.
You find yourself in repeated unsafe situations or relationships without understanding the reason for it and sometimes you do not feel like you have the strength to leave when you are not feeling safe.
You are clear you want to be safe, and the most you long for is for a happy life, but you keep running into unsafe relationships and environments leaving you with a profound feeling of shame. You do not tell anybody because by telling others you run the risk they will blame you for what seems to be free unsafe decisions.
