Grief and Loss
Helping people of all ages who are coping with loss find the path back to a life filled with hope and joy.

In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night…
— Antoine de Saint-Exup

All too often, death, divorce, and other upheavals take our loved ones from us, sometimes when we least expect it. When children and adults are faced with the loss of a trusted family member or friend, the painful feelings that result can, not only reduce the pleasures of previously enjoyable activities, but also make everyday tasks much more difficult.

At Courage to Connect, Dr. Clatch understands the complex emotions and challenges of grief and loss. At the age of 14, he experienced the unexpected passing of his own father. This traumatic event was extremely difficult for him to process and comprehend, especially at a time when he was becoming a young man himself. Through his own therapeutic journey, Dr. Clatch has seen firsthand the benefits of working with a trained clinician. Pulling from his experience, Dr. Clatch uses his compassionate, client-centered approach to help children, teens, and adults cope with their loss, rediscover hope, and restore purpose to their lives.

A life without a loved one can still be a life filled with joy. Courage to Connect invites you to begin moving forward again–with Dr. Clatch at your side.

Testing & Evaluations

Courage to Connect is now offering Neuropsychological, Psychological & Psychoeducational Testing and Evaluations at our Glencoe location.

Psychological and neuropsychological evaluations examine clients’ abilities and difficulties as they relate to mental health difficulties or problems being experienced. An evaluation is used to assess areas including cognition, learning, memory, language, visual-motor, attention, intelligence, organizational skills, behavior, and emotion.

The goal of the evaluation is to understand the clients strengths and weaknesses to support or rule out specific diagnoses. The results allow the CTC therapist to collaborate with the client and their support systems, including family, physicians and professionals that work with the client’s everyday life.

Areas of Testing
Learning Disabilities
Autism Spectrum Disorders
ADHD & ADD
Personality Disorder
Depression
Anxiety
PTSD
Academic Skills
Executive Functioning
Cognitive Functioning

Currently, testing is for children, adolescents, and young adults and adults.
