Anxiety Coach Chicago, IL

Do you experience anxiety that interferes with your everyday life and hampers you from reaching your full potential? Do you feel that overcoming anxiety would free you to have more meaningful relationships, a more fulfilling career and deeper sense of joy?

If so, you’re not alone.

Everyone experiences anxiety at some point in their lives, so it’s completely normal. But for some people, it’s a much more intense and constant struggle. Anxiety comes in a variety of forms and disorders including:

- Panic attacks
- Chronic anxiety and worry
- Excessive stress
- Social phobias and fears
- Generalized anxiety disorder
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Fear of flying, heights, dogs or people
- Other phobias

If you’re dealing with any of the above, it might seem like your struggle is impossible to overcome; like anxiety has a strangle hold on your life. But that’s not true.

No matter your cir****stance, seeking a helping hand to share in your experience and work through anxiety is a sign of strength, not weakness, and a sign that you’re dedicated to being the best version of yourself.

The first step in the process of getting help with anxiety is reaching out and asking. This step can often be the hardest one to take, because it’s natural to feel that we should be able to handle our fear and anxiety ourselves. Add the natural discomfort that comes with approaching the unknown, and requesting help can seem very intimidating

If this is you, please reach out. Even if you just need a bit of short-term support, and feel that you don’t need a psychologist or psychiatrist, it’s always easier to get through a struggle when you have someone in your corner to cheer you on. I’m completely committed to your confidentiality and finding an approach that helps you achieve lasting the calm and confidence you’re searching for.

Anxiety Coaching Strategies

Too often friends, family, and even therapists will urge you to just ignore the feelings, or provide coping tactics that only help you from moment to moment. This type of advice doesn’t approach anxiety as a whole, and won’t help you achieve long-lasting change.

The best way to work through anxiety, and transform your life is by addressing three essential elements: your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. As your anxiety coach, I’ll work with you to create a completely customized program to address these three elements in ways that will benefit you the most.

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety

Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the best methods you can use for overcoming anxious thoughts and the behaviors that follow. While emotion will play a strong role in your anxiety experience, managing how you respond and react to those emotions is also extremely critical.

It’s important to realize that CBT is not about ignoring your fear or feelings. In fact, it’s important to acknowledge your feelings as a first step. Only then can you examine your reaction, and find a way to respond in a productive manner. Using this framework, you and I will work together to understand where your anxious feelings come from, find strategies to avoid making the situation worse, and eventually, help change your response to negative situations entirely.

Using Hypnosis for Managing Anxious Emotions

While cognitive behavioral therapy is a great way to manage thoughts and behaviors, it cannot address emotions directly. One of the most unique ways to do so is via hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy works by bypassing the conscious mind and instilling a sense of peace and calm directly in your subconscious mind. Emotions actually happen before thoughts, so learning to manage them directly is extremely powerful.

Keep in mind that this isn’t like the hypnotherapy you might have seen in cartoons, where a magician is able to wave a wand or other object and achieve complete mind control. In the science-backed hypnosis techniques you’ll experience in my office, you’re an active participant, and can control what suggestions you absorb. So if you’re open peace and calm, you’ll only receive messages that are compatible with that goal.

Are You Ready to Reduce Anxiety?

Together, cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnosis are a powerful combination to help you reduce, manage, and even lessen anxiety. The process will take work, cooperation, and patience, but if you’re open to it, your life and health can be transformed.

Reach out today to schedule an introductory call and start down the path towards eliminating anxiety. Just give me a call at 312-522-7920.

How Does Anxiety Coaching Work?

The first step in the process is to schedule a 15-minute introductory call to make sure we’re a good fit. During this conversation I’ll ask you to share a bit about your situation, and answer any questions I can to help sure you’re comfortable.

Then, we’ll have a longer, discovery call to uncover your goals more in-depth. You’ll be free to share your situation, and ask any questions that are weighing on your mind. Then I’ll ask some questions about you–your job, family, and overall health–so I can create a customized road map that will work for your life and situation. This initial meeting will last about 60 minutes, and can be set up at my office in Lakeview, on the North Side of Chicago, or via Skype or Google Hangouts.

After the initial meeting, we’ll continue meeting as often as is appropriate for your situation–this can mean multiple times per week, or just every once in a while when you need extra support. Either way, you’re going to have homework. Change doesn’t happen in an office; it comes after consistent effort. But don’t worry. As your anxiety coach, I’ll hold you accountable, and work with you through every step of the process.
